About this Jaguar E-Type

This beautiful Jaguar e type 1969 2+2 FHC is an original manual RHD UK car, with matching numbers, original registration mark and heritage certificate. She has covered less than 1500 miles since a complete nut and bolt restoration undertaken over two years. The car was manufactured in June 1969 and was first sent to the Coventry distributor SH Newsome before being shipped to Parkgate garage for sale. Here it was first registered in October 1969 and supplied new to a Mr Buckley, who then cherished her until he passed away in 2015. The car was sold as part of his estate with 66500 miles on the odometer, and her purchaser then spent 2 years having her professionally stripped and restored with a full nut and bolt restoration, with invoices totalling £40k all on file. The engine was completely rebuilt with machining undertaken by classic car and rally, fitted with new pistons, valves and valve seats, high torque starter motor, stainless steel manifolds and stubby ram pipes, along with many other items. The body restoration, paint and interior trimming was carried out by David and Paul Sherman of Barkstone refinishing, whilst all the bright work was sent to Nottingham platers for re chroming. With the restoration completed, in August 2017 the car was entered for the Petworth Concours d’elegance at the Petworth hotel in Woodhall Spa, and won 2nd place in the 1960-1969 class. The winning rosette is included with the file. The car comes with a comprehensive history box containing all invoices and receipts, plus a full photographic album of the restoration as well as digital images on a USB drive. The heritage certificate confirms that the original engine was changed by the factory and that the serial numbers of the engine, gearbox and registration mark are all original, as is the original colour combination of signal red coachwork with black interior trim. The file includes photocopies of the original registration book, various tax discs going back to the 1980’s and commemorative plaques of 60 years of Jaguar, 21 years of e type and silver jubilee of the Jaguar drivers club. The current owner purchased the car in November 2018 and has covered just 408 miles since. It has been cherished and kept carefully in a heated garage and only driven on dry, sunny days. In summary, this is probably one of the best, original and most beautifully restored Jaguar e type 2+2’s available in the market today. She drives like a dream and will evoke the charm and the feeling of the 1960’s each time she takes her lucky new owner out for a spin.
